What the experience feels like
From the unit entrance, follow Bear Creek Road 1.1 miles and turn toward the signed Overlook lot. Four benches line the route. The dirt surface narrows and inclines in places and can be muddy after rain or snow. Walking on the hills is prohibited.
Leashed pets are allowed on the trail under current NPS rules; keep them off the fragile paleosol. Restrooms are elsewhere in the unit, not guaranteed at this individual trailhead. Heat, wind, and rocks are the main comfort issues on an otherwise short walk.
