That Oregon Life
Privacy Policy
Last updated August 26, 2026
This page explains what That Oregon Life LLC collects when you use thatoregonlifecom-rm.b.tempurl.cc, our emails, and our shop, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It replaces the old 2021 policy.
Who we are
That Oregon Life LLC (“That Oregon Life,” “we,” “us”) runs this website and related email, notifications, and merchandise. We are based in Springfield, Oregon.
This policy covers thatoregonlifecom-rm.b.tempurl.cc and services that link here, including our newsletter, browser notifications, and checkout on this domain. Merchandise is also sold at shop.thatoregonlifecom-rm.b.tempurl.cc. That store may show extra notices at checkout. Our Terms of Use cover using the site. Shipping details are on Shipping & Returns.
Information you give us
You can read most of the site without creating an account. We collect information you choose to send, which may include:
- Name and email, if you subscribe, contact us, or check out
- Message content from the contact form or email
- Billing and shipping address, phone number, and order details if you buy something
- Account login details if you use a shop account on this site
- A name, email, and comment if comments are open on a post
- Photos or other files you upload to a form
We do not ask you to email credit card numbers. Cards are handled by the payment companies below.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our servers, security tools, and partners automatically receive information browsers typically send. That includes your IP address, browser and device type, language, referring site, pages you view, dates and times, and approximate location derived from IP. Cloudflare helps deliver and protect the site and may process that traffic data. We also use cookies, pixels, and similar tools, described below.
If an ad blocker is hiding ads, we may detect that in your browser and ask you to allow this site so the pages can stay free to read. That check happens on your device.
Advertising
CMI Marketing, Inc., d/b/a Raptive (“Raptive”) is a service provider of this Site for the purposes of placing advertising on the Site, and Raptive will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. To learn more about Raptive’s data usage, click here: https://raptive.com/creator-advertising-privacy-statement
Ads on this site are interest-based. Raptive, Google, and other advertising partners may use cookies and similar tools to understand how you use this site and other sites, then show ads they think are more relevant. Some state laws treat that kind of sharing as a “sale” or “share” of personal information even though we do not sell your name or email list.
You can limit interest-based ads by:
- Using the “Do not sell or share my personal information” link Raptive places at the bottom of the site
- Google’s ad settings at myadcenter.google.com
- The Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info
- Your browser or device tracking controls
Blocking cookies or ads can change how the site looks and may hide the ads that pay for the reporting.
Cookies and similar tools
A cookie is a small file stored by your browser. We and our partners use cookies, local storage, pixels, and tags to keep the site working, remember a login or cart, measure traffic, send email, and show ads. You can delete or block cookies in your browser. Some features, including checkout and “keep me logged in,” will not work without them.
Email and newsletters
If you subscribe, we use your email to send That Oregon Life newsletters and related notes about the site. Signup can happen on this site, including the newsletter page, or through a That Oregon Life email signup we link to. We use email tools to send those messages, including Brevo.
We do not sell, rent, or lease our subscriber list. You can unsubscribe from marketing email with the link in any message. We may still email you about an order, a legal notice, or a reply you asked for.
Push notifications
If you allow browser or mobile notifications, OneSignal helps us deliver them. That can include a device or subscription identifier, your permission status, and how notifications perform. You can turn notifications off in your browser or device settings. See OneSignal’s privacy policy.
Shop and payments
If you place an order on this site or at shop.thatoregonlifecom-rm.b.tempurl.cc, we collect what is needed to fulfill it: contact details, shipping address, items, and payment status. Card numbers go to the payment processor, not into our inbox. We use PayPal and Stripe.
Orders may be packed by a fulfillment partner. We share the shipping name, address, and order contents with that partner only to ship your order. See Shipping & Returns.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics, through Google Site Kit, to understand which stories are read, which pages are slow, and how people find the site. Google collects device and usage data through cookies. See Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from partner sites.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Run, secure, and improve the site
- Send newsletters and notifications you asked for
- Fill orders, prevent fraud, and handle returns
- Answer email and contact-form messages
- Measure readership and advertising
- Show ads that help keep the site free
- Comply with law and protect our rights
When we share information
We share information with companies that process it for us, including Raptive and its advertising partners, Google, Cloudflare, Brevo, OneSignal, PayPal, Stripe, WordPress/Jetpack, hosting and cache tools, and shipping or fulfillment partners. They are allowed to use the information to provide their service to us, and they have their own policies.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people or the site, or if That Oregon Life is sold or merged, in which case this information may transfer with the business. We do not sell your email list.
How long we keep it
We keep newsletter, account, and order records as long as we need them to provide the service, keep tax and fraud records, and resolve disputes. Analytics and ad logs follow those vendors’ retention settings. You can ask us to delete information we control; see your rights below. Backup copies can take a little time to clear.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from marketing email, turn off notifications, block cookies, and use the “Do not sell or share” link for advertising. If you have a shop account, you can update your details there.
If you are in Oregon, California, or another place with a consumer privacy law, you may have the right to know what we have collected, request a copy, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and opt out of targeted advertising or the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those laws define those words. We will not deny you the site for exercising those rights, though some features need the data they rely on.
Email info@thatoregonlifecom-rm.b.tempurl.cc to make a request. We may need to verify it is you. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows it. Advertising opt-outs for Raptive ads should also use the “Do not sell or share” link and Raptive’s advertising statement.
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict personal data we hold, and to complain to a data protection authority where you live. Raptive handles those rights for data collected through the ads it serves. For information we collect directly (for example a newsletter signup), email us at the address below.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. We do not change our collection or use practices when we see that signal. The advertising and cookie controls above are the working opt-outs.
Children
This site is for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think we have, email us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. We limit who on our team can see subscriber and order information. No website is perfectly secure. Do not send payment card numbers by email.
Other sites
Stories and pages link out to other websites. Their privacy practices are their own. We are not responsible for those sites.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The date at the top is the current version. If we use personal information in a materially new way, we will post the change here and, when the law requires it, ask for consent or give you a way to opt out.
